# Integrations

> Connect the apps your team already uses and give agents the right actions and events.

Integrations let Mantle work with information in another app. An agent can use a connected **tool**, and a task can
start from a supported **event**.

## Tools and triggers

| | Tool | Trigger |
| - | - | - |
| What it does | Lets an agent take an action or look something up | Starts a task when an event happens |
| Example | Create a Linear issue | Run a task when a new issue is created |
| When it runs | During an agent chat or task | When the connected app sends the chosen event |

An integration may offer tools, triggers, Mantle message actions, channel updates, or a mix. Check its guide before
designing an automation.

## Connect an app

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open integrations">Go to **Settings → Integrations**.</Step>
  <Step title="Choose an app">Open its page and read what its tools and triggers can do.</Step>

  <Step title="Connect your account">
    Follow the sign-in steps or add the requested access key. Use a work account made for this purpose when your company
    requires it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose agent tools">
    Edit an agent and enable only the app actions it needs. A connection alone does not mean every agent should use it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test a safe request">
    Start with a lookup or a reversible action. Check the target app before moving to automatic tasks.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Use integrations in team conversations

Some integrations add actions directly to messages. For example, the Linear integration can create or link an issue from
a Mantle message and post selected Linear updates to a channel.

For repeat work, add tools to an agent, then create a task with an output channel. Add an app trigger only after a
manual run produces the result you expect.

<Warning>
  Connected tools can change data outside Mantle. Give them the least access they need, review sensitive actions, and
  disconnect accounts that are no longer in use.
