# Welcome to Mantle Chat

> Learn how to chat with AI, work with your team, and build shared agents in one place.

Mantle Chat is a place for team conversations and AI work. You can talk with teammates, ask AI for help, write shared
documents, join calls, and run agents without moving between separate apps.

You can use Mantle on your own, but it is built for shared work. A teammate can join an AI conversation, read the same
context, and continue from where you stopped.

## What you can do

* **Chat with many AI models.** Use hosted models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, Z.AI, and
  Mistral AI.
* **Work together.** Use channels, direct messages, threads, reactions, shared AI chats, and huddles.
* **Keep knowledge close.** Write canvases, upload files, and give AI workspace instructions.
* **Create shared agents.** Give an agent a job, choose its model, and add the knowledge and tools it needs.
* **Automate repeat work.** Run an agent by hand, on a schedule, after another task, or when something happens in a
  connected app.
* **Find past work.** Search messages and canvases from one place.

## A few useful words

| Word | What it means in Mantle |
| - | - |
| **Organization** | Your company or team. It contains members, workspaces, and direct messages. |
| **Workspace** | A focused area for a team, project, or topic. It contains chats, channels, canvases, agents, and tasks. |
| **AI chat** | A conversation with an AI model. In a shared workspace, teammates can open it and continue the conversation. |
| **Channel** | A team conversation for a project or topic. You can also mention an AI model or agent in it. |
| **Canvas** | A shared document that your team can edit together. |
| **Agent** | A reusable AI teammate with its own instructions, model, knowledge, and tools. |
| **Task** | A saved job that tells an agent what to do and where to post the result. |
| **Huddle** | A voice call in a channel or direct message. |
